Cinematographer Peter Young joins us for an evening of discussion and learning about documentaries.
Peter Young is an award winning documentary cinematographer, director and producer who has been shooting documentaries in NZ and around the world for over 30 years.
His work includes the feature documentaries The Last Ocean and Art of Recover and the recent 4 part series Fight for the Wild about the plight of New Zealand native wildlife and desperate battle to protect it. Young filmed Country Calendar for 25 years, worked on BBC’s Blue Planet Series 1, two Giant Squid films, the tribute to Sir Ed Hillary and two Pike River Documentaries.
Join us as Peter shares some insights about these projects - the magic he’s experienced and the mistakes he’s made. A relaxed conversation about practicalities of filming wildlife, arts, social and environmental stories in a fast, authentic and honest way.
