The Cinematographer and the Production Designer are two of the key creative collaborators who help directors realise their vision of the film.

This webinar will explore the working relationship between the DP and the Production Designer and Art Department. Its a very important collaboration and these heads of department must be totally in tune with each other, in order to best serve the story-telling process and eclipse the director’s concept of the project.

We will explore how the process works: from early pre-production, to shoot prep, to camera turnover on the day, and what factors play to make this a successful endeavour where magic is truly created on the screen.

Among the confirmed panelists are Production Designers Grant Major (The Power of the Dog) and Tracey Collins (Power Rangers) and Cinematographer Tom Burstyn (Cowboy Bebop, Snowpiercer)

We’ll talk about virtual sets, CGI integration, fly-away walls, in-camera techniques, working with the costume designer, the challenges of period films and geo-relocation, and the age old art of “cheating” in its many, many forms.

Donny Duncan will moderate the discussion between cinematographers and art dept representatives in a virtual webinar. To register, simply click the Register button above. After you've registered, you'll receive an e-mail with a link to join the session.
