Jaron Presant ASC is an American Cinematographer, presently in NZ working on a feature titled 'Don't Make Me Go', and we are very lucky to have an opportunity to meet with him while filming in Christchurch.
Presant began teaching in 2007, sharing insights into such topics as the balance between art and technique — and giving young cinematographers the tools necessary to control the image pipeline. As his schedule allowed, he taught at universities across California, as well as at high schools, film festivals and a TEDx event.
His credits include the tentpole feature Rampage and the indie movie Hours, TV Series Daybreak and Mr Corman, and 2nd-unit cinematography on The Brothers Bloom, Looper, San Andreas and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Presant will present a show'n'tell on some of his projects, and speak to us about his perspective on new developments in lighting and the changes in process afforded by driving lights using xy chromaticity coordinates.
