Conversation with cinematographer Quyen Tran

Quyen Tran is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer who prioritises story above all else. In Auckland to shoot The Beast, come and join us for an evening in conversation.

Tran recently returned from Sundance where her film, PALM SPRINGS, starring Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, and JK Simmons premiered in competition.  

She wrapped a new limited series called A TEACHER, starring Kate Mara and Nick Robinson, which will premiere on FX later this year.  

Tran splits her time between features and television, having shot multiple pilots and series for HBO, Netflix and FX.  Her most recent Netflix pilot, UNBELIEVABLE, has garnered numerous accolades for 'New Best Limited Series' and 'Best Actress' nominations.

American Cinematographer named Tran as a 2017 RISING STAR, and in 2019 was named one of Variety’s 10 DPs to Watch.  

When she isn’t on set, she is an avid gardener, cook, and mother to two young children.

This informal event will include a discussion with refreshments and snacks provided. You will have the opportunity to ask questions in an intimate environment.
