Evil Dead comes to life in Auckland

In 2015 Dave Garbett shot the first episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, establishing the look and feel for the series. He went on to complete the series, swapping blocks with John Cavill as the series progressed. Now they are going back for more as another series moves into pre-production.

But before they begin shooting again, they have agreed to tell us how they overcame the challenges of stepping into one of the most famous horror franchises in movie history, begun by Sam Raimi back in 1981. Raimi took the director's chair himself for the first episode where Ash accidentally releases the Evil Dead to set up the series..

It is sure to be a revealing evening where we will watch and discuss an episode and learn a lot from these experienced and approachable cinematographers.
